Big Brother 2014: Day 1

The house is updated to look more futuristic but really not much about the layout has changed at all. It doesn't look brand new, it just looks like everything has been replaced by a bad sci fi set. Bedroom is tinier though, so that should make for some interesting happenings.

Our first housemate is Tamara, A 24 year old, blonde, oil headhunter, whatever the fuck that is. She's smoking and isn't afraid to dress like she knows it. Hates woman who just want to be housewives, finds men disposable. She likes to be in control and pull peoples strings. I enjoy looking at her, that's enough for now even if she seems like a bit of a cunt. I think the crowd is booing her but the fucking music is blasting over the reactions. You can tell from her interview that she's putting on a bit of an act. I bet she's a lot more personable than her intro video is making her out to be. She's walks into the house, boobs a jiggling, and is blown away by the house. Heh, she lets out a "fuck" as she looks around. Seems a bit too excited.

Next up is Mark, he's 24, Indian I think, gay I think. Gets his hair, face and nails done constantly. Very fem. His hero is Mariah Carey. Yeah, he's gay. He's very opinionated but tries not to be nasty. He looks like a short, portly, hindu George Micheal. Again, he comes across in his video as more of a tool than he actually seems in his interview. Looks flustered a bit during the interview. I can totally see this dude being broke down at some point. He checks his face in the mirror as soon as he enters the house. Tamara almost pees herself with excitement when she sees someone else enter the house.

Back from the break they talk about how 1 of the roommates entering the house tonight will be given the power to control the house, the public has to vote during the show who gets the power. I like that twist.

Helen is up next, she's nice looking. Apparently she's semi famous for fucking a celebrity, sweet lord it seems all they do over there is fuck. She owns a salon. She likes to argue. She's very attractive in both a traditional and a tomboy way but she also seems sort of plain and boring. She's nervous during her interview. I can imagine her being fodder for the stronger players in the house, not sure she has the personality to pull this off. She seems to get along fine with Mark and Tamara when she enters the house.

Steven is up next, he's 23 and A successful businessman, he wants to be Prime Minister some day. Bit of a braggart but also seems fairly dull. He's like a good looking Dexter. Again, comes across much better in his interview than his video, I'm sensing a theme. For all his bluster he seems really excited to be in the house. He seems like he could be a total heel or a big time baby face but I don't think he'll be boring.

Danielle is up next. She's very religious and has a magnificent body. She thinks she's very moral, doesn't believe in same sex marriage or sex before marriage and all that stuff. Thinks women should be classy but she's a lingerie model. Get's big time boos. Dear lord is her body a work of art. Face is pretty average but it has a cuteness to it. Apparently her plan is to be the morality cop of the house, no smooching. LOL, crowd is booing her big time. She'll definitely be a major character in the house. She seems a little leery of everyone when she enters but she's cordial enough.

Winston, 27 is up next. The first lads lad to enter the house. Pretty boy but looks a bit doofy and acts just as doofy. He likes the ladies whether they're 10's or 9's, heh. I have a feeling he's nicer than your fuck and run kind of guy and could be the darkhorse in the series. He's gonna be in a relationship though, guarantee it. Hopefully it's with a nice girl, if there are any. When he enters the house it appears as if Danielle is quietly judging, or eye fucking him. Hard to tell. He's clearly the crowd favorite so far, although it's not a high bar.

Matthew is 23, he has a girlfriend and he's a brain who likes smart people. Seems like a bit of a tool. People think he's gay but he's not. Well he says he's not. Hard to get a read on him. Jesus, he looks like he's about to pass out during the interview. He seems insanely nervous.

Kimberly is a business woman and model, I'm guessing more model. She has a law degree and a business masters. Has modeled for Playboy. She's very pretty and seems down to earth but says she can be ruthless. The women are initially kind of cold to her when she enters. The hens are gonna be pecking this year, I can feel it.

Chris is 23, an Irish everyman who hates shallow people. Thinks the Kardashians are the spawns of Satan. Is from a family of dairy farmers. Good looking guy. He's intriguing but I need to see more.

The last housemate of the evening is Pauline, a 49 year black dance teacher. Apparently she was featured in a Kylie Minogue song. She seems fun but also could get annoying in that constantly in your face sort of way. She's really good during her live interview.

Now it's time for the public to vote over who to put in charge as we head to commercial.

They elect Pauline, which kind of surprises me but maybe she's more famous than I thought, or maybe she just seems the most normal and down to earth. She's taken to a control room and the rest of the housemates are sent out into the garden where there are 2 giant plexi glass or plastic pods. Back in the control room, Pauline is shown snippets of everyones videos and has to decide who to punish and who to reward. She decides to reward Mark because he said Mariah Carey was his idol, ooofa. She punishes Matthew because he said he doesn't much tolerate people who aren't smart. Seems to me that there were at least a few more better candidates to punish, but whatever. Poor Matthew may end up killing himself before this over.

Mark and Matthew are alerted to each go into a pod. BB announces that Mark has won 5000 pounds and he's right excited. BB then announces that Matthew is being punished so his pod lifts up into the air where he'll have to stay, secluded from the rest of the house, for an indeterminate amount of time. He looks like he'd rather have a knife to his balls than be here, heh. Pauline appologizes to Matthew, although not real earnestly, and that about wraps up the first night.

The cast looks really strong this year. Lots of fit birds and blokes. I can see plenty of sparks flying, both in the bedroom and otherwise. Hyped for tomorrow when 6 more housemates enter and Pauline has some more big decisions to make.

Day 1 Power Ratings
1. Danielle
2. Winston
3. Tamara
4. Kimberly
5. Chris
6. Steven
7. Pauline
8. Helen
9. Matthew
10. Mark

Winston is clearly gonna be fodder for one of the top 3 women. I have Helen so low because I just can't get a read on her yet but I'm feeling she's not going to be as alpha as Dani, Tamara or Kimberly. I hope I'm wrong though because the more the merrier. As for the other men, Chris is most likely to get into something with one of the girls. Steven is not my type but I'm not a lass so I dunno, one of them could latch on to him simply because he's well off. He doesn't come across as all that interesting though. Pauline is clearly more loved by the public than me at this point. It's not that I don't like her, and she will be a good everyman, but she's clearly not going to be involved in any love triangles. She could be the moral compass of the house though. Helen I've touched on, I need to see more from her. Poor Matthew may just end up leaving on his own although the fact that he has a girlfriend could make things more interesting with him if one of the girls takes a fancy to him or he them. Of course he could also end up throwing up and begging to be let out of the house before anything good happens. Mark just annoys me so far but most overly effeminate, affected men annoy me. He does seem like a nice guy though and he and Pauline may just end up hitting it off and becoming the "good guys", so he's got room to move up.
