Big Brother 2014: Day 2

Today we get introduced to 6 new housemates and some new twists, but first a recap and some new footage from last night after we went off the air.

After the prize and punishment are handed out there's a lot of mingling in the garden. Matthew seems OK with what's happened even though he's stuck up in the air in a pod.

Pauline and Mark seem like people but the idea that they're bonding of how great a human being Mariah Carey is is just fucking vapid and makes my brain hurt.

Winston and Steven are talking about girls, they're clearly both on the hunt.

Tamara, Mark and Danielle are talking to poor Matt up in the pod but he tells them to go inside since it's cold out there. Danielle is the only one who stays and they have a nice convo. He say's people find him pretentious, she says she loves pretentious people. She says she's not connected with two people in the house and Tamara is one of them. Rawr kitty, rawrr! That could be fun.

The girls are upset with the way their pictures on the wall look. Christopher is in the DR. I dunno, he seems more annoying the more and more I see him. That everyman thing is going out the window, the way he talks is a bit irritating.

Pauline tells Matt why she chose him, she says she used to be judgmental of people but in her line of work she had to get used to working with all different types of people. They had a nice convo and seemed to be getting along ok.

Helen says someone pissed all over the toilet. Chris fesses up that it might have been him and he'll clean it up, all is well.

Tamara is in the DR she says she likes Helen and is into Winston because he type is good looking and stupid, lol. She says Kimberly and Danielle are boring.

Meanwhile, Kimberly is talking to Dani, Winston & Chris about her modeling and how she's not just a playboy girl.

Dani & Winston are getting along on the couch in the garden talking about his job, which is stock trading. She seems flirty and he seems nervous, heh.

Mark says he's afraid of Whales. Jesus Christ.

Steven is talking to Matthew who says he's ok being in the pod. Kimberly comes out and her and Steven start talking. He boasts about the number of countries he's visited, she tells him she's a Playboy model but she's going to get into glamor modeling. Sure ya are. Both of these people are so into themselves, they're perfect for each other. She says she's dating but nothing serious. Matt is taking it all in.

Back inside it's 3am and people are starting to turn in. Pauline is in the DR, says she feels a little bad for Matthew. Says she's glad that the housemates don't realize she still has power and she's happy about that.

Pauline is back in the control room live. Pauline, she's told that she'll now watch 6 new housemates enter the house. Once the final housemate is in, she'll get to decide which one of the 15 housemates gets a pass to the final. Hmmm, don't think I like this twist much at all. Now it's time to meet the newbies.

Toya, 29, is a black girl, a TV presenter. She doesn't like drama, then proceeds to talk about dating men who had girlfriends already or had paternity tests pending. She seems kind of fun even though her VT is the usual harder edged stuff. She's wearing some insane hoop skirt when she comes out for the interview. I can't tell whether she's fun or annoying. It's hard to tell because they pretty much take all the confrontational, spouty shit for all the VT's so they all sound the same, which is stupid.

Chris is 33, an actor. He likes to joke and doesn't have an ego. He comes across as very down to earth but may be trying a bit too hard to be funny. Still, I like him. Crowd boos when he comes out and I have no idea why. Ha, he asks Emma for a kiss goodbye when he goes into the house. Ok, this dude is funny, he basically said all the bad things he said in his VT was a lie. He's awesome, he reminds me of the twins from last year, but with more personality. He's immediately my pick for the bye to the finals because I can't imagine he'd do anything to get evicted anyway.

18 Year old Ashleigh is an Irish girl. Sweet lord she's wearing a glorious outfit. Jesus Christ, she's a model too, what the fuck is it with this show. She's cute and bubbly, wonderful curly long blonde hair. I like her, for a lot of reasons. Says in her interview she has a boyfriend. Doesn't look nearly as good with straight her, kind of mongy actually. I'm all confused now. Seems like a down home girl. She'll probably clash with a lot of the other women in there. Steven looks smitten with her as she walks into the house, heh. Pauline seems overly aggravated with her, not sure why.

Marlon is 22, he loves the ladies, everything about them. He works at an optometrist. Says he has an alter ego. Looks kind of geeky. Again, the VT makes it hard to get a read on the real him. Apparently his alter egos name is Marlicio Silver. WTF. I dunno, still can't get a read on him but he seems a bit of a skeezer. Appears shallow but I think there's more to him, we'll see.

Next up is Ash, he's 26 and get this, he's a model. This is just getting stupid now. Says he's lazy and he's never had to work hard in his life. He's a good looking guy. Claims to rarely get turned down by the ladies. He is handsome. Pauline says she likes him the best so far.

And lastly we have 33 year Jale. She's a bit of a hefty girl but doesn't like people who eat in public. Says she has trouble living with people. She's rather annoying and boastful. God dammit, she comes out in a red dress doing the complete silly fat girl schtick. Ughhh. Says biting her tongue will be hard in the house. A crude, boisterous fat girl, we've never seen that on BB before.

Now it's time for Pauline to decide who gets a pass to the final. She picks Helen to go to the final, ughhh why! Now we're live in the house, BB calls everyone to the garden. I bet there's a swerve coming. BB announces that Pauline has chosen to change someones life forever. He announces Helen and tells her to go into the pod. She gets the good news and glitter and confeti drop. Everyone seems happy for her. BB tells Pauline that in 48 hours she'll have the power to change someones life again. LOL, the power is that she'll be able to pick one person to go up for nomination every week they're in the house. These are a couple of pretty insane twists so early in the game. Pauline returns from the control room and her and Helen have a big hug and shed some tears. It's a pretty genuine and nice moment.

Not a bad 2nd show but the newbies are pretty much right out of central casting from the previous seasons and I don't know if I like one person having control of what are pretty damn big twists in the game, but oh well.
