Super 8: 82 Out Of 100 Stars

What a glorious fucking movie. Harkening back to his childhood, JJ Abrams has made one of the quintessential 80's movie, even if it is 25 years late.

I'll not spoil much except to say the story focuses on a group of kids who are making a movie for a zombie competition. The kids sneak out one night to film at the train station, and all hell sort of breaks loose.

All the kids in the movie are spot on, and while it seems a lot of people had trouble with the 3rd act, I did not.

A fun, fresh, callback to the big films of my youth, Super 8 captures two moments in time perfectly, the 70's in which it's set and the 80's in which it would have been a major blockbuster.

Super 8 is Super Great!
