Feast 2: 73 Out Of 100 Stars

I'd like to say that I remember more about the first Feast then "I liked it" but my mind doesn't work well enough to remember the details of a movie "I liked" 2 years ago so this will sort of be a standalone review.

This is the movie equivalent of a JBL vs Kane PPV Main Event in that in order for it to work there's gotta be a lotta gimmickry involved to hide the fact that not a lot is going on.

For instance, every time we meet a new character they're basically given "promo" time to explain their back story and their motivations. It's a cool little gimmick that was also used in the original.

We open with a gang of biker chicks arriving at the destroyed scene of the original film, a middle of nowhere bar. There they find the old man bartender and the dismembered hand of the sister of the gang leader. The old man leads the gang into town to try and find the guy responsible for little sister getting chewed up by the monsters in the original.

That's about all I'll spoil except to tell you about a few characters.

So the movie kicks into what I guess you would call high gear once the gang arrives in town to find more destruction and a gaggle of monsters running around. A few various townsfolk are boarded up and trying to survive the monster onslaught, amongst them are a pair of luchadore midgets & their grandma, a pair of car salesmen one of whom is cheating with the others wife. Throw in a survivor from the first film, a sweet blonde, and the gang and old man and we've got the cast set.

Now then, the basics of the film aren't all that great. Not much happens as most of the time it's just a lot of hiding and trying to be quiet. There's also a rather tedious segment where the blonde spends a lot of time trying to get into a store in order to hide, then immediately spends a lot of time trying to get out of the store.

The reason the film is worth a watch is the high spots, and man do they try everything. It wouldn't be fair to expand on them as it would be pretty spoilerific but there are just so many laugh out loud and gore moments that I was a at once on the verge of vomit and laughter, and of course the female biker gang finds a way to get pretty damn naked, which was a plus.

All the characters are written with enough piss and vinegar to make them enjoyable even if they seem a bit detached as a group.

So in summation, a bit slow but there's enough cross breed sex, semen spurting, monster farting and naked biker chicks to really make up for the slow parts. Have a Feast, you'll enjoy it.
