Gran Torino: 60 Out Of 100 Stars

The 60 is all Eastwood. Realistically and honestly this is a rehashed story that isn't all that great and is telegraphed like a 2005 Mike Tyson punch.

I mean for reals man, there isn't a part of this movie you can't see coming. God bless his old fart heart but Eastwood does everything he can to bring this above a celluloid version of Oprahs Book Club and he nearly succeeds, but there's just so much here that we've seen hundreds of times before.

Give the old fucker credit for going balls to the wall, his character deserved to be in a better story because for 78 he does a damn fine job of portraying the character. The thing I was left with most though is that this is not the big send off movie for Eastwood that a lot of critics want it to be or are declaring it to be, it just isn't all that great a film and to treat it as such is fucked.

Ever been skipping through the channels and seen a movie of the week that's amazingly obvious but tries to be so heart wrenching and melodramatic that you can't turn away? This is that except with Clint Eastwood instead of Ed Marinaro.
