Valkyrie: 75 Out Of 100 Stars

Really well told and engaging story that's a fun, and even edge of your seat watch even though you know how it ends before you even sit down to watch it.

For those who don't know, it's the true story of a group of German soldiers and politicians who believe that the removal of Adolf Hitler is the only way to save Germany from destruction during the 2nd world war.

Obviously the ending is known, but the film does a terrific job in getting there and keeping you engrossed, thanks in large part to the large and talented cast who do an excellent job of humanizing their characters, making you root for them despite of their obvious fates.

I was a little wary going in as I had recently seen a History Channel documentary about the very subject and while the movie hits every note pointed out in the documentary it also stellarly fleshes out the in betweens and never feels too slow or long in getting to it's destination. All personal life shit aside, Tom Cruise does a pretty damn good job in the lead role.
