Ok, so this is an earlier film by the same dude who did Gutterballs. Now while I didn't consider Gutterballs torture porn because it was just too silly/funny, this is assuredly torture porn. It struck me as I watched this that although i'd heard the term a ton, outside of the Hostel movies and maybe that shitty Elisha Cuthbert movie I don't think i've ever seen a torture porn.
Now then, this is the story of a bunch of American tourists somewhere in Asia, I'm not sure if it's ever made clear. Anyhoo, they end up in a XXX movie theater and unwittingly become part of the show.
It's a pretty nice setup and right away I see some familiar staples of this writer/director as we get a stripper showing full on vag and an interesting scene at a street market involving a dog. Yup. I like the fact that this dude isn't afraid to show or do things, but at a point it became over the top, especially since the dialog and acting were just downright horrid.
There's lots of nudity, fucking and a ton of gore, but the kill scenes aren't a lot of fun as there's almost no chase, just grab and kill. I also noticed something that the director would continue in Gutterballs in that he loves to spurt blood, everything that gets stabbed spurts like a gusher, and it just becomes silly.
In fact just about everything in this film is silly. The characters are bad, the actors portraying them are worse, and the lines they have to deliver are worse yet. The gore is over the top to point of cheese and the attempted gross out factor just becomes boring very quickly.
There's a ridiculous sub plot added on at the end and it leads to "action" which is just a jumbled mess of bad choreography and worse filming. The movie is full of quick cuts for no good reason and extended shots of people reacting and acting so awfully that it's irritating beyond belief.
Go watch a cam show or something, but don't bother connecting to this Live Feed.
